L&T Wins Mega EPC Orders in Iron Ore, Steel and Zinc Sectors

Larsen & Toubro has secured multiple mega EPC orders across iron ore handling, steel plant expansion and zinc processing, strengthening its Metals & Minerals order book amid capacity expansion in India’s mining and metals sector.

The first order, from India’s largest iron ore producer, a public sector enterprise, covers Package BE-01C of an 18 MTPA Iron Ore Handling Plant in Chhattisgarh. The project forms part of the customer’s plan to increase iron ore production capacity to 100 MTPA by 2030. L&T’s scope includes design, engineering, procurement, installation and commissioning of a downhill conveyor system, screening plant, stockpile facilities, yard equipment and a Rapid Wagon Loading System.

In West Bengal, L&T has won multiple packages from a Navratna public sector company for the expansion of its steel plant from 2.5 MTPA to 7.1 MTPA, covering Design & Build and Balance of Plant packages.

L&T has also secured an EPC contract from a leading private sector metals producer for a Zinc Processing Plant, covering design, engineering, procurement, installation and commissioning in the non-ferrous segment.

Chairman & Managing Director S N Subrahmanyan said the wins reaffirm L&T’s leadership in the minerals and metals EPC sector, reflecting customer confidence in the company’s ability to deliver projects of exceptional scale and complexity as India accelerates metals and minerals capacity expansion.
