Oriano Starts 420 MWp Solar Project for Gujarat Steel Firm

Oriano Clean Energy Private Limited has started construction of a 420 MWp DC / 311 MW AC solar EPC project for a global steel conglomerate in Gujarat, for the client’s captive consumption. The mandate is a recurring project, following an earlier 295 MWp turnkey EPC solar project Oriano commissioned for the same client, which remains under operation and maintenance by Oriano’s asset management team.

The new project will be developed across approximately 1,200 acres on a turnkey EPC basis, featuring fixed-tilt mounting structures and central inverters. Construction commenced in August 2025, with phased commissioning beginning by mid-2027. Once fully operational, the plant is expected to generate approximately 750 million units of clean electricity annually, offsetting an estimated 5,35,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions per year.

Anil Patel, General Manager, Business Development at Oriano Clean Energy, said the company is proud to partner with the global steel conglomerate on projects of increasing scale and complexity as India accelerates toward its renewable energy targets.

Oriano Clean Energy has a decade-long track record across renewable energy project development, EPC, EHV infrastructure, BESS and O&M, with an aggregate portfolio of over 4.25 GWp and 1.7 GWp commissioned for global IPPs and corporate clients, spanning 50+ project sites across 15+ states and union territories.
