Spark Minda, also known as Minda Corporation, has announced plans to invest ₹1,166 crore to establish two greenfield automotive component manufacturing plants in Sector 10 and Sector 24 of the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority region in Uttar Pradesh, expected to create approximately 6,440 jobs.
The new facilities will produce ignition switch-cum-steering locks, mechatronic components and related vehicle access and connection systems, extending the company’s existing industrial cluster in Noida and Greater Noida, where it currently manufactures security systems, die-cast components and wiring harnesses.
Alongside the YEIDA expansion, Spark Minda has confirmed a new joint venture with Japan’s Toyodenso Co. Ltd. to manufacture advanced automotive switches. The plant will be set up in Noida with operations expected to begin in Q4 FY27, backed by a committed investment of around ₹60 crore.
The company’s decision to expand in the region is driven by its existing manufacturing presence in Noida and Greater Noida, the upcoming Noida International Airport at Jewar, and improving road, rail, RRTS and expressway connectivity. The Gautam Buddh Nagar district is expected to benefit from increased employment, rising housing demand and growth in supporting sectors such as transportation and retail as the region positions itself as a larger automotive manufacturing cluster in North India.
