Jewar to Get 384 MW Data Centre Hub Worth Rs 26,910 Cr

A Rs 26,910 crore data centre and AI infrastructure hub is set to come up in Jewar, Uttar Pradesh, with the first phase planned at 384 MW capacity. Spread across 114 acres in Sector 28 of the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority area, the project will be developed by AM Group as part of a wider 1 GW high-performance computing and AI infrastructure hub targeted for full commissioning by 2030, with initial capacity expected online in 2028.

The Jewar development is linked to AM Group’s broader plan to build a 1 GW High Performance Compute Hub in Uttar Pradesh under an MoU signed with Invest UP, with total investment estimated at around $25 billion for AI infrastructure in the Greater Noida region. The facility is intended to serve global AI workloads, including demand from hyperscale cloud companies, frontier AI laboratories and India’s sovereign AI initiatives, deploying about 5,00,000 high-performance chipsets across sectors including healthcare, energy, manufacturing and automotive.

The project is planned to run on 24/7 carbon-free power sourced from wind, solar and pumped-storage projects. AM Group Chairman Anil Chalamalasetty and Group President Mahesh Kolli said the initiative combines compute capacity with clean-power solutions to create a sustainable template for global AI infrastructure.

The Jewar project comes as AM Intelligence expands its broader compute-as-a-service ambitions, including a recent order for 9,000 Nvidia Vera Rubin GPU systems for a Hyderabad AI facility, and plans for around 5 GW of powered AI data-centre capacity across India, the US and Europe. Uttar Pradesh has also outlined a wider “Data Corridor” vision with a proposed first-phase capacity of 6 GW and indicative investment of around Rs 6 lakh crore.
