The Chennai Metro Rail Ltd (CMRL) has reached a major milestone in the Phase II expansion with the successful completion of grade separator work on Corridor 4 between Mullaithottam and Poonamallee Depot.

Phase II of Chennai’s metro expansion covers 118.9 km with 128 new stations across three corridors. Corridor 4, stretching 26.1 km, will link Light House station to Poonamallee Depot, significantly enhancing connectivity.

A crucial step in this progress was the transportation of a motor trolley from Poonamallee Depot to Mullaithottam Station, reaching Pier No. 424, where the grade separator construction began. Additionally, the movement of the Road cum Rail Vehicle (RRV), essential for Overhead Equipment (OHE) works, marks steady advancements in the project.
