Tata Steel Special Economic Zone Limited has strengthened its position as a leading green industrial developer with a proposed Green Ammonia Project at its Gopalpur Industrial Park in Odisha’s Ganjam district, reinforcing the park’s emergence as a major eastern India hub for green energy equipment and advanced manufacturing.
A Memorandum of Cooperation has been signed between the Government of Odisha, Japan-based IHI Corporation, ACME Group and TSSEZL to set up a 0.4 MTPA Green Ammonia Plant and a jetty-less floating terminal at the park. Separately, TSSEZL and Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited have executed a binding land transfer agreement for TPREL’s proposed ₹10,000 crore investment, focused on manufacturing solar ingots and wafers.
Managing Director Manikanta Naik said the confidence shown by leading national and international companies reinforces TSSEZL’s role in driving investment, employment and Odisha’s ambitions of becoming a leading green industries hub. The park was also honoured with the ‘Smart Industrial Park’ award by Maritime Gateway at the Smart Logistics Summit & Awards 2026 in Bhubaneswar.
Spanning nearly 2,970 acres, Gopalpur Industrial Park has drawn investors across green hydrogen, renewable energy equipment, specialty chemicals, tyres and mineral processing sectors, including Avaada GreenH2, Ocior Energy, Hygenco, Saatvik Solar Industries, SRF Limited and ATC Tires. The park’s cumulative investment pipeline has now crossed ₹65,400 crore, positioning it among eastern India’s fastest-growing industrial destinations.
