GPT Infraprojects Opens New Steel Girder Plant in Bengal

GPT Infraprojects Limited, a leading infrastructure company, informed exchanges that it has commissioned its new steel girder and components manufacturing facility at Village Majinan, PS Gurap, in Hooghly district, West Bengal.

Located approximately 60 kilometers from Kolkata, the new plant is part of the company’s strategic expansion in the steel bridge segment, catering to both railway and highway infrastructure projects. The company is currently in the process of obtaining approval from the Research Designs and Standards Organisation (RDSO) for manufacturing steel bridge girders at the site.

This facility is expected to offer operational efficiencies and increase GPT’s manufacturing capacity for steel bridge components. Infrastructure provisions have been made to scale the plant’s capacity to 25,000 MT per annum over the next two years.

The facility will enable GPT Infraprojects to serve a broader client base, including Indian Railways, the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH), and other infrastructure stakeholders.
