The National High Speed Rail Corporation Limited has confirmed that the Vapi station on India’s Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train corridor has completed major structural works.
Rail and platform-level slab casting, structural steel erection for the station, roof sheeting and electrical works are now in progress, marking substantial advancement on the 508 km high-speed rail corridor.
The station, located in Dungra village, will feature a built-up area of 28,917 square metres, rise approximately 22 metres, and include amenities such as a business class lounge.
The project implementing agency confirmed that the station’s approach viaduct towards Ahmedabad has been completed, whilst work on the Mumbai-facing approach continues.
The station is strategically located approximately 7 km from the Vapi Railway Junction, 7.5 km from the Vapi Bus Stop, and just 5 km from the Vapi GIDC industrial area.
