Larsen & Toubro (L&T) is set to invest up to Rs 3,600 crore in the development of three new data centres, aiming to boost its capacity fivefold to 150 MW by 2027. The new facilities will be located in Bengaluru, Panvel, and Mahape, significantly expanding the company’s footprint in India’s rapidly growing data centre market.
Currently, L&T operates data centres in Mumbai and Chennai, with a combined capacity of 32 MW. This expansion is in response to the surge in demand driven by digitalisation and the adoption of artificial intelligence (AI).
L&T Cloudfiniti, a subsidiary of the industrial giant, will spearhead the initiative, offering end-to-end solutions in data centres, multi-cloud services, and network and data security. With this move, L&T aims to strengthen its position in a market that is attracting substantial investments from both domestic and global players.
