Apollo Green Energy Ltd (AGEL) has announced the establishment of a new subsidiary, AGEL Renewable Energy Ltd, with an investment of Rs 500 crore to develop a 1 GW renewable energy portfolio over the next two–three years.
The new subsidiary will primarily focus on utility-scale solar projects while integrating advanced energy storage solutions, including hydrogen-based systems. Starting from FY26, this initiative aims to bridge key gaps in India’s renewable energy sector and contribute to the country’s clean energy goals.
AGEL Renewable Energy Ltd will actively participate in large-scale government tenders and establish power purchase agreements (PPAs) with utilities and commercial consumers. The company also plans to expand its workforce, hiring up to 200 professionals across engineering, project management, R&D, and operations.
Currently operating in eight states, AGEL manages a diverse portfolio, including 400 MW of solar installations.
