Adani Green Energy Ltd (AGEL), has reached a significant milestone by surpassing 12,000 megawatts (MW) of operational capacity. This achievement makes AGEL the first and only renewable energy company in the country to reach this benchmark.
AGEL’s total operational portfolio now stands at 12,258.1 MW, comprising:
✅ 8,347.5 MW of solar energy
✅ 1,651 MW of wind energy
✅ 2,259.6 MW of wind-solar hybrid capacity
With this capacity, AGEL is helping power over 6.2 million homes while reducing 22.64 million tonnes of CO₂ emissions annually—equivalent to the carbon sequestration of 1,078 million trees.
AGEL’s rapid expansion plays a crucial role in India’s clean energy transition, contributing:
🔹 10 per cent of India’s installed utility-scale solar and wind capacity
🔹 Over 13 per cent of the country’s total utility-scale solar installations
AGEL is currently building the world’s largest renewable energy plant at Khavda, Gujarat, with a total planned capacity of 30,000 MW. Spanning 538 square kilometers, this massive project is five times the size of Paris and comparable to the entire city of Mumbai.
So far, 2,824.1 MW of renewable capacity has been commissioned at Khavda, with development progressing rapidly. AGEL is collaborating with Adani Infra, Adani New Industries Ltd, Adani Infrastructure Management Services Ltd., and strategic partners to ensure swift execution.
