The Telangana Power Generation Corporation (TGGENCO) has announced a call for bids to prepare a detailed project report (DPR) for solar projects totalling 56 MW. The deadline for bid submission is March 21, 2025, with bid openings scheduled for the same day. The estimated contract value for the DPR preparation stands at Rs 1.3 million.

The scope of the project includes a 15 MW floating solar plant at the Yadadri Thermal Power Station, a 28 MW ground-mounted solar project at the Kakatiya Thermal Power Project, and a 13 MW floating solar plant on the Kakatiya Thermal Project’s raw water reservoir. These projects are part of Telangana’s broader renewable energy strategy aimed at diversifying energy sources and reducing carbon emissions.

Bidders are required to comply with several financial and experience-based prerequisites. These include a transaction fee of 0.03% of the contract value (capped at Rs 10,000 for projects up to Rs 500 million and Rs 25,000 for larger contracts), a 2.5% security deposit, an earnest money deposit of Rs 6,480, and a fixed deposit of Rs 250,000. Additionally, a 0.04% corpus fund contribution of the contract value is mandated, with similar caps applied.

Eligibility criteria stipulate that bidders must have prior consultancy experience in feasibility studies and DPR preparation, with at least one completed floating solar project and one ground-mounted solar project in India over the past five financial years. Financially, bidders must have a minimum annual turnover of Rs 388,800 for two of the last three years.

This initiative aligns with Telangana’s renewable energy policy for 2025, which aims to achieve 20,000 MW of renewable energy and storage capacity by 2030. In 2024, the Northern Power Distribution Company of Telangana issued tenders for 3 MW ground-mounted solar projects in Karimnagar and Sircilla, reinforcing the state’s commitment to sustainable energy.
