The Hyderabad Airport Metro Limited (HAML) is facing challenges in finalizing the metro alignment and stations due to the presence of flyovers in the southern part of the city. Managing Director NVS Reddy inspected the stretch from Nagole to Chandrayangutta and highlighted the need for precision engineering, particularly at LB Nagar Junction, which has two flyovers and an underpass.

The proposed Kamineni Hospital station will be located on the right side of a flyover and connected to the existing LB Nagar station with a skywalk. Construction of the Chandrayangutta interchange station, an extension for the Old City metro, will also be challenging due to a nearby flyover.

To ensure proper integration of both corridors, height adjustments of concourse and platform levels will be necessary at interchange stations. The presence of multiple high-level flyovers at Bairamalguda/Sagar road junction is expected to significantly increase the height of the Airport Metro stretch, leading officials to consider shifting the metro station to the right side of the flyovers.

Despite challenges posed by the flyovers, authorities aim to minimize private land acquisitions for metro stations along the Nagole to Chandrayangutta route. Proposed stations include Mythri Nagar, Karmanghat, Champapet Junction, Owaisi Hospital, DRDO, and Hafeez Baba Nagar. Additionally, the alignment of the station near Musi will be shifted to the left by 10 meters to avoid conflicts with water mains and high-tension electrical lines.

Plans also include an additional station after crossing the Musi River to improve connectivity and relocating the Nagole RTO station nearer to Alkapuri Junction for easier access to the ORR. Authorities are collaborating with traffic police and the public to finalize station names and ensure accessibility to residential colonies.
