The Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, has given the green light to seven bridge projects in Arunachal Pradesh for the fiscal year 2023-24, as part of the Setu Bandhan Scheme.
These approved projects are collectively estimated at ₹118.50 Crores and are anticipated to enhance regional connectivity, thereby fostering economic development and improving the overall quality of life for the residents of Arunachal Pradesh.
Among the sanctioned bridge projects are several RCC bridges. Other projects involve an RCC bridge over Ngopok River on Mebo-Dholla road in East Siang District and a Steel Composite bridge over the Panyor River to link Chullyu and Kebi villages near Yazali Agri-Farm in Lower Subansiri District.
Gadkari underscored that these bridge projects align with the government’s commitment to enhancing the overall quality of life and driving socio-economic growth in Arunachal Pradesh. Improving connectivity across the region plays a pivotal role in advancing economic development and ensuring that the people of Arunachal Pradesh have access to better opportunities and an improved standard of living.
