Sahasra Semiconductors Inaugurates Rajasthan’s First ATMP Facility at Bhiwadi

India’s first SME-led semiconductor ATMP/OSAT facility, established by Sahasra Semiconductors Pvt. Ltd., was inaugurated on May 15 at Bhiwadi, Rajasthan, marking the state’s formal entry into the country’s strategic semiconductor ecosystem. Developed under MeitY’s SPECS scheme with an investment of over ₹150 crore, the 57,000 square-foot facility operates Class 10K and 100K cleanrooms for packaging memory chips used in products such as Micro SD cards.

Virtually inaugurated by Union Electronics and IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw alongside Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, the facility also represents India’s 13th semiconductor node overall. Rajasthan introduced a dedicated Semiconductor Policy in March 2026 to accelerate chip manufacturing investments and position the Delhi-NCR belt as a high-tech manufacturing corridor.

The facility sits within the Electronics Manufacturing Cluster developed by ELCINA at Salarpur, Khushkhera, a hub already home to eleven operational companies with cumulative investments exceeding ₹900 crore and employment for over 2,700 people, signalling a broader industrial transition for Bhiwadi from an automobile centre toward advanced electronics manufacturing.
