Cabinet Minister and local MLA Ganesh Joshi has laid the foundation stone for a ₹12.17 crore double-lane steel bridge on Dehradun–Mussoorie State Highway No. 1, replacing a structure severely damaged in the 2025 disaster. A temporary bailey bridge has been managing traffic at the site since.
The 60-metre span steel box bridge at kilometre 18 will feature pile foundations, RCC abutments, a 7.50-metre two-lane carriageway, and 3-metre footpaths on both sides, complete with railings and crash barriers. The Public Works Department has been directed to ensure completion by August 2026, maintaining quality standards throughout execution.
The Dehradun–Mussoorie corridor carries significant load as both a tourism artery and a daily commuter lifeline, making the permanent structure critical to regional connectivity. The project reflects Uttarakhand’s broader commitment to rebuilding and reinforcing infrastructure along its key highway network.
