Three Bridges to Transform Ghaziabad–Baghpat Connectivity

A long-standing connectivity gap across the Hindon River is set to narrow, as three new bridges are approved to link Ghaziabad with Baghpat and the surrounding rural belts. The projects, to be executed by Uttar Pradesh Setu Nigam, will come up at Mataur, Bhadouli, and Farukhnagar, targeting areas where mobility has long depended on risky river crossings or extended road detours.

For over 20 villages, this is less about infrastructure on paper and more about everyday access. Farmers will gain quicker routes to markets, students safer journeys to schools, and daily commuters a more reliable connection to work. In places like Mataur, where reaching neighbouring districts often meant crossing the river by boat, the bridges promise a fundamental shift in how people move.

Beyond reducing travel time, the initiative is expected to unlock local economic activity, ease congestion, and bring fragmented communities into a more connected regional network, making infrastructure feel immediate, visible, and human.
