Calderys Expands India Footprint with New Odisha Facility

Calderys has strengthened its India presence with the inauguration of a new manufacturing facility in Odisha, marking a significant step in its regional growth strategy. The launch ceremony was attended by Mohan Charan Majhi along with senior state officials.

Spread across 45 acres, the CAPES facility has already commissioned two production lines for acidic and basic monolithics, operational since May and November 2025, respectively. The plant is designed to house six production lines in total, catering to products such as refractory bricks, steel-casting fluxes, and tap-hole clay, with additional units expected to be operational by 2026.

Strategically located near key industrial hubs, the facility will serve sectors including iron and steel, cement, aluminium, and energy. Beyond manufacturing, it is set to incorporate advanced testing units, while also generating around 350 jobs and supporting vocational training initiatives.

With built-in systems for emission control, water management, and renewable energy use, the development reflects a strong push toward sustainable industrial expansion, aligning with India’s evolving infrastructure and manufacturing landscape.
