Navi Mumbai Gears Up for Big-Ticket Infra Expansion

City and Industrial Development Corporation has unveiled an ambitious ₹16,250 crore budget for FY27, signalling a major infrastructure push anchored around the newly operational Navi Mumbai International Airport. The plan focuses on expanding housing, transport, and commercial ecosystems across Navi Mumbai.

The corporation has projected receipts of ₹16,250 crore against an expenditure of ₹16,150 crore, resulting in a surplus of ₹100 crore. This marks a sharp rise from the previous fiscal, where both receipts and spending were under ₹10,000 crore.

At the core of the strategy is the airport-led development model, with CIDCO planning a series of integrated zones, including an Aerocity, EduCity, MediCity, and an International Corporate Park. These clusters are expected to drive economic activity and attract investments into the region.

According to Vice Chairman and Managing Director Vijay Singhal, improved fiscal stability has enabled the organisation to scale up its development agenda.

The budget underscores Navi Mumbai’s emergence as a key urban and economic hub within the Mumbai Metropolitan Region.
