The Odisha Government has approved 14 industrial projects with a combined investment of Rs 2,780.10 crore during the 149th meeting of the State Level Single Window Clearance Authority in Bhubaneswar. The approved projects span 10 districts and could create 14,104 jobs, covering food processing, textiles, chemicals, medical devices, ESDM, steel and infrastructure.
Key approvals include a Rs 500 crore snacks and baked goods manufacturing unit in Khordha and Cuttack, a Rs 140 crore cattle feed facility, and a Rs 105.38 crore project across Khordha, Cuttack and Nayagarh. In textiles, a Rs 251.45 crore knitted garment unit has been approved in Dhenkanal, along with a Rs 125 crore textile processing unit in Balangir.
In the chemicals sector, a Rs 450 crore phosphorous-based derivatives plant has been approved in Ganjam, alongside an Rs 80 crore coal tar distillation facility in Sundargarh and a Rs 55 crore bulk drug intermediates unit in Nuapada. Additional approvals include a Rs 56 crore medical device facility in Khordha and a Rs 300 crore PCB assembly and box-build manufacturing plant, also in Khordha.
Separately, the government has issued an Expression of Interest to appoint a technical consultant to prepare a Detailed Project Report for the Dugarajapatnam port and shipbuilding cluster, with proposals to be evaluated shortly. The plan will include shipyard layout details, adding shipbuilding and ship repair infrastructure in Andhra Pradesh.
