ACME Group to Invest ₹5,000 Crore in Direct Reduced Iron Facility

The ACME Group has announced a major investment of ₹5,000 crore to establish a Direct Reduced Iron (DRI) facility, signalling a significant boost to India’s steel production capabilities. The new facility is expected to enhance domestic steel output and support the growing demand from infrastructure and construction sectors across the country.

The DRI plant will focus on producing high-quality steel with improved efficiency and lower environmental impact compared to traditional methods. By leveraging advanced production technologies, ACME Group aims to reduce energy consumption and optimise resource utilisation, contributing to sustainable growth in the steel sector.

Industry analysts note that the facility will also reduce India’s dependence on imported steel, thereby strengthening the domestic supply chain. The increased availability of locally produced high-quality steel is expected to support a wide range of sectors, including real estate, industrial projects, and transportation infrastructure. This expansion aligns with the government’s broader objectives to promote self-reliance in the steel industry and reduce import dependency.

The project is also anticipated to generate employment opportunities in the region, including skilled and semi-skilled roles in plant operations, logistics, and ancillary services. Local businesses are likely to benefit from increased industrial activity, boosting regional economic growth and investment.

ACME Group’s decision underscores the strategic importance of investing in modern steel manufacturing facilities to meet rising domestic demand. The DRI plant will serve as a critical addition to India’s steel infrastructure, ensuring consistent supply, enhancing production capabilities, and supporting the country’s industrial expansion plans.

With construction underway, the ACME Group is expected to strengthen its position as a key player in the Indian steel industry while contributing to the nation’s infrastructure and manufacturing ambitions.
