Telangana is set to welcome its second commercial airport with the Central government approving the revival of Mamnoor Airport in Warangal district. The announcement was made by Roads and Buildings Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy on Friday, following the Union Civil Aviation Ministry’s clearance on Tuesday.

Originally operational during the Nizam era, Mamnoor Airport has remained defunct for decades, with past attempts at its restoration never coming to fruition. However, this long-pending project has now gained momentum after securing a no-objection certificate (NOC) from GMR Hyderabad International Airport Limited (HIAL).

The redevelopment of Mamnoor Airport is expected to boost regional connectivity and economic growth in Warangal and surrounding areas.
