At the Advantage Assam 2.0 Investment & Infrastructure Summit 2025 in Guwahati, Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani announced a landmark Rs 50,000 crore investment in Assam. The funds will be directed towards key sectors, including airport development, aerocities, power transmission, cement production, road projects, and city gas distribution. This initiative is expected to accelerate infrastructure growth and create significant employment opportunities in the state.
Adani emphasized Assam’s strategic importance in India’s Act East Policy, which aims to enhance trade and connectivity with Southeast Asian nations. He praised the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, stating that Assam’s rapid transformation is a testament to its economic potential.
A key highlight of the summit was the unveiling of the ‘Bamboo Orchids’ design for Guwahati’s New Integrated Terminal Building (NITB) at Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport by Prime Minister Modi. Inspired by Assam’s natural heritage, the terminal will handle 13.1 million passengers annually and is set to be operational by late 2025.
The Advantage Assam 2.0 Summit has attracted global investors, policymakers, and industry leaders, positioning the state as a major investment destination. With this large-scale investment, Adani Group is set to play a crucial role in Assam’s infrastructure expansion and economic development.
