Apraava Energy has successfully commissioned a 250.7 MW wind power project in Gujarat’s Devbhoomi Dwarka district, marking its largest wind installation to date. This addition expands the company’s operational wind capacity to 1,200 MW, reinforcing its commitment to clean energy development. The project was developed under the Solar Energy Corporation of India’s (SECI) Tranche VIII wind tender and plays a crucial role in strengthening India’s renewable energy sector.
The wind farm features 120 Suzlon wind turbine generators, each with a capacity of 2.1 MW, and operates under a 25-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with SECI at Rs 2.83 per kWh. To ensure operational efficiency and reliability, the facility is equipped with advanced fire suppression technology and condition-monitoring systems. These features help optimize performance while maintaining safety and sustainability in large-scale renewable energy generation.
Beyond energy production, Apraava Energy has undertaken community development initiatives in 12 villages surrounding the Sidhpur site. These programs focus on water security, livelihood enhancement, and women’s empowerment, reflecting the company’s broader commitment to social responsibility. By integrating sustainability with community welfare, Apraava aims to create long-term positive impacts in the region.
In addition to its latest project, Apraava operates wind farms in Mahidad (50.4 MW) and Samana (100.8 MW) and recently secured a contract to install 2.3 million smart meters across Gujarat. With a total installed capacity of 3,394 MW across wind, solar, coal, and power transmission projects, the company is aggressively expanding its renewable energy footprint. Currently, 300 MW of wind and 600 MW of solar power projects are under development, further solidifying Apraava’s role in India’s transition to a low-carbon future.
