NTPC Renewable Energy Limited (NTPC REL) has issued a tender for the Balance of System (BoS) package for a 1,200 MW ISTS-connected solar project in the Rann of Kutch, Gujarat. The deadline for bid submissions is January 14, 2025, with a bidding document fee of Rs 22,500.

The bid security requirements are block-specific: Rs 100 million for a single 300 MW block, Rs 200 million for two or three blocks, and Rs 500 million for four blocks. While NTPC REL will provide the solar modules, the selected bidder will handle the design, engineering, manufacturing, supply, packing, transportation, unloading, storage, installation, testing, and commissioning of the project.

Key responsibilities include constructing Module Mounting Structures (MMS) with tracker-based technology and arranging power and water for construction. Eligible bidders must have experience in grid-connected solar projects with a minimum cumulative capacity of 40 MW and at least one project of 10 MW or more. Alternatively, bidders can qualify by completing industrial projects valued at Rs 1 billion for a single 300 MW block, Rs 2 billion for two 600 MW blocks, Rs 3 billion for three 900 MW blocks, or Rs 4 billion for four 1,200 MW blocks.

Bidders should also demonstrate operational experience of at least one year in industrial projects outside renewable energy or six months within the sector. Additionally, they must have completed an electrical sub-station project with a 33 kV or higher voltage level, operational for at least six months to one year before the bid opening date.

Annual turnover requirements match the industrial project values, with Rs 1 billion for a single 300 MW block and scaling up to Rs 4 billion for four 1,200 MW blocks.

Separately, NTPC REL has issued another BoS package tender (excluding land and transmission systems) for a 500 MW state transmission utility-connected solar project in Bhadla, Rajasthan.
