Kalyani Steel Limited plans to invest Rs 26,000 crore to establish a titanium metal and aerospace components manufacturing complex, along with an advanced specialty steel and automotive components facility, in Gajamara, Dhenkanal district, Odisha. The state cabinet has approved a special incentive for this project, which will be the first aerospace and defence manufacturing complex in the state, Chief Secretary P.K. Jena announced on February 13, 2024.

This investment is expected to create over 12,000 jobs and spur industrial growth in Odisha. The state government is committed to fostering a supportive environment for the aerospace, defence, and automotive sectors. The project will also boost local MSMEs and startups, further enhancing employment and entrepreneurship opportunities in the region.

Collaborations with local ITIs and polytechnics will focus on upskilling, aiming to position Odisha as a leading hub for new-age technology skills. These educational partnerships will help meet the high-end, high-skill job requirements of the project and enhance the state’s skilling landscape.

The state government is enthusiastic about this collaboration with the Kalyani Group and will provide all necessary support to ensure the successful execution of these projects. They anticipate that this initiative will mark a significant milestone in Odisha’s journey toward becoming a center of manufacturing excellence.
