Monolithisch India is moving forward with a major expansion to increase its annual production capacity for ramming mass, a critical material for furnace linings in the steel industry, from 2.1 lakh metric tonnes to 5.75 lakh metric tonnes per annum.
A significant part of this growth will come from a new manufacturing unit scheduled to begin operations in September 2026. The company’s management has set a revenue target of approximately Rs 2.5 billion for FY27, with an operating profit margin target of 22–25 per cent.
The company’s manufacturing facility in Purulia provides a logistical advantage, allowing savings of approximately Rs 800–1,200 per tonne in freight costs when supplying steel plants across Eastern India, a cost benefit the company plans to leverage as it scales up operations.
The expansion is designed to capture growing demand as India’s domestic steel production continues to rise, with volume growth projected at approximately 42 per cent annually through FY29. The pace of India’s steel production growth and efficient utilisation of new capacity will be key factors in determining the success of the expansion.
