OSPA Aligns with Odisha Government’s Vision to Build 130 MTPA Steel Hub by 2030

The Odisha Steel Producers’ Association has resolved to work in alignment with the state government’s target of scaling Odisha’s steel production capacity to 130 million tonnes per annum by 2030. The commitment was formalised at OSPA’s first Apex Committee meeting, chaired by President Asit Tripathy, and attended by senior representatives from Tata Steel, JSW Steel, Jindal Steel, Jindal Stainless, Rungta Mines, and several other leading producers.

To strengthen policy advocacy, OSPA announced the formation of specialised sub-committees covering raw material supply, logistics, environment and forests, and land and rehabilitation, designed to deliver technically grounded recommendations to address sectoral bottlenecks.

The Association also unveiled an activity calendar for FY27, with a particular emphasis on green steel and sustainable industrial practices. With its GST registration and permanent Secretariat now operational, OSPA will shortly launch a membership drive targeting downstream industries, aiming to consolidate Odisha’s steel ecosystem under a single representative platform.
