Tara Chand InfraLogistic Secures ₹82 Crore Contract from SAIL for Dankuni    Warehouse Operations

In a significant development for India’s logistics and steel sectors, Tara Chand InfraLogistic Solutions Ltd has been awarded a ₹81.5 crore contract by Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) to manage and operate its Dankuni warehouse in West Bengal. The contract spans a duration of 4.5 years, covering comprehensive material handling, storage, and logistics services critical to SAIL’s eastern distribution network.

The announcement had an immediate impact on the company’s performance in the stock market. Shares of Tara Chand InfraLogistic rose nearly 5 per cent on BSE, reflecting investor optimism over the deal’s potential to strengthen the company’s revenue and long-term growth prospects.

The Dankuni warehouse is a strategic asset for SAIL, facilitating efficient distribution of finished steel products across eastern and northeastern India. By outsourcing its management to Tara Chand InfraLogistic, SAIL aims to enhance operational efficiency and reduce logistical bottlenecks.

As per a report, the contract reaffirms Tara Chand InfraLogistic’s growing reputation in the infrastructure and steel logistics space. The company specialises in heavy material handling, warehousing, and integrated supply chain services-making it a key partner for large public-sector undertakings and private industrial clients.

The deal also comes amid rising demand for steel in India, driven by strong activity in sectors such as construction, infrastructure, railways, and renewables. Efficient warehousing and supply chain systems are becoming increasingly critical for steel producers like SAIL to maintain competitiveness and meet customer demand across geographies.

With this contract, Tara Chand InfraLogistic is poised to expand its footprint in the steel sector, while SAIL continues to focus on core manufacturing and strategic asset optimisation.
