The land acquisition process for Hyderabad Metro Rail Phase-II along the MGBS-Chandrayangutta route, covering nearly 7.5 kilometers in the Old City, is moving forward rapidly. Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has expedited the acquisition of 1,100 affected properties, with the Hyderabad Airport Metro (HAML) team closely monitoring the progress.

According to HAML Managing Director NVS Reddy, 900 property requisitions have already been submitted to the District Collector, who has issued preliminary notifications for 800 properties in phases. Currently, 400 properties have been officially declared.

Compensation for 200 properties is expected to be finalized by the end of the month, after which payments will be made, and demolition work will begin.

NVS Reddy also emphasized that ongoing negotiations with property owners and protection of religious and historical structures during construction are being handled with appropriate engineering solutions, ensuring smooth progress for the metro project.

The successful completion of the land acquisition process is critical for the timely construction of the MGBS-Chandrayangutta metro route. With compensation and demolition activities on track, HAML is focused on maintaining the momentum of the project while minimizing disruptions to the community. The protection of key religious and historical structures, along with efforts to preserve the cultural integrity of the Old City, highlights the commitment to ensuring that the metro development complements both modern infrastructure and heritage conservation.
