Adani Energy Solutions Ltd. (AESL) has completed the acquisition of the special purpose vehicle (SPV) for the Khavda Phase IV Part-A transmission project, following the receipt of a letter of intent (LOI) from REC Power Development and Consultancy. This acquisition strengthens AESL’s position as the largest private-sector transmission player in India and reinforces its leadership in the country’s energy transition. The Khavda IVA Power Transmission SPV, established by RECPDCL, was created to facilitate the evacuation of 7 GW of renewable energy from the Khavda Renewable Energy Park under the Phase IV Part A package.

The project involves developing a transmission line that will connect 765 kV double circuit lines from Khavda to Lakadia and Khavda to Bhuj in Gujarat, with a transformation capacity of 4,500 MVA. The Khavda renewable energy park, which is the largest globally with a planned generation capacity of 30 GW, is expected to play a crucial role in advancing India’s decarbonization efforts.

According to AESL’s CEO, the investment in the Khavda project is essential for establishing a world-class, resilient transmission network required to evacuate the planned 30 GW of green power and provide grid stability. This network will significantly contribute to the seamless integration of green energy into the national grid and support India’s journey toward net zero.
