TVS Industrial & Logistics Parks (TVS ILP), a subsidiary of the TVS Mobility Group, has embarked on an ambitious project to construct a cutting-edge warehousing facility in Cuttack, Odisha. This significant development marks a pivotal step in TVS ILP’s eastward expansion strategy.

Encompassing a vast 24-acre area, the facility will house two expansive warehouses totaling 5 lakh square feet. Designed to cater to a diverse clientele in sectors like FMCG, FMCD, 3PL, and e-commerce, the project represents a substantial investment of ₹125 crore by TVS ILP. With an anticipated completion date by the end of December 2024, the groundbreaking ceremony signifies a new chapter for the company, particularly in its efforts to establish a strong presence in eastern markets.

Manikandan Ramachandran, Chief Operating Officer of TVS ILP, highlighted the strategic importance of this eastward expansion. The company is shifting its focus towards the eastern region, with plans for similar projects already underway in Siliguri, Sikkim, and Guwahati, Assam. This move signifies TVS ILP’s ambition to extend its reach beyond South India and capitalize on the burgeoning opportunities in the East.

The upcoming Cuttack facility enjoys a prime location at the intersection of the Mumbai and Chennai-Kolkata highways (off NH 55), offering exceptional connectivity to key trade hubs and the Paradip port. This strategic positioning is expected to contribute to the region’s economic growth by generating over 110 direct jobs and creating an additional 500 to 1,000 indirect employment opportunities.

Aligning with TVS ILP’s commitment to environmental responsibility, the logistics park will be constructed with sustainability principles in mind. The focus will be on maximizing energy efficiency, water conservation, and the utilization of sustainable materials. The facility is also pursuing Edge Advanced Green Building certification from the International Finance Corporation, further solidifying TVS ILP’s dedication to environmental stewardship.

Ramachandran expressed his confidence in the growth potential of the Choudwar Industrial Estate. He believes the new facility will act as a catalyst for efficient business operations, catering to the rising demand from the eastern part of the country. He reaffirmed TVS ILP’s commitment to its ambitious plan of establishing industrial parks every 400 kilometers across India, with a particular emphasis on aggressive expansion in the eastern markets.

Furthermore, TVS ILP plans to explore opportunities in other Tier-2 towns within Odisha, leveraging its pioneering role in the national logistics park sector. This strategic approach underscores the company’s determination to stay ahead of the curve by capitalizing on emerging market trends. By contributing to regional development and remaining an industry leader in logistics solutions, TVS ILP positions itself for a prosperous future.
