Envision Energy, JSW Energy to Develop 653.4 MW Wind Energy Park in Karnataka and Maharashtra

Envision Energy, a prominent provider of renewable energy solutions, has clinched a substantial contract from JSW Energy for the development of a wind energy park in Karnataka and Maharashtra. This project boasts an impressive capacity of 653.4 MW and will be powered by 198 EN 156-3.3 MW Wind Turbine Generators (WTGs), specifically tailored by Envision for the Indian wind conditions. Anticipated for completion by the close of 2024, this wind energy park is projected to generate 2200 GWh of clean energy, significantly contributing to India’s ambition of achieving net-zero emissions.

The collaboration between Envision and JSW Energy signifies a momentous advancement for renewable energy in Karnataka and Maharashtra, promising a substantial boost to the region’s clean energy capacity. Envision’s WTGs, known for their optimization capabilities in countries like China and Vietnam, feature a rotor diameter of 156 meters, a hub height of 140 meters, and a rated capacity of 3.3 MW. Envision has invested approximately Rs 500 crore in the Indian market, creating more than 2,000 jobs directly and indirectly.

RPV Prasad, CEO of Envision Wind Power Technologies India, emphasized the company’s commitment to India’s Atmanirbhar Bharat vision. Notably, the components for the wind turbines, including the nacelle and hubs, will be assembled at Envision’s Pune facility, while blades will be sourced from their Trichy plant. Tower components will be supplied by manufacturers in Maharashtra.

Kane Xu, Global Vice President of Envision Energy and Chairman of Envision Energy India, underscored the urgency of collaborative efforts to swiftly transition to green energy, citing the imperative need to address climate change. He hailed the partnership with JSW Energy as a significant stride toward establishing a sustainable future in India.

Envision Energy has a strong track record in India, with 330 MW of commissioned wind projects and contracts for an additional 4.7 GW of projects. The company has significantly bolstered its manufacturing capabilities, boasting an annual output of 3 GW for Nacelle & Hub in Pune and 2.5 GW for blades at its Trichy plant. Operating across six states in India, Envision serves 12 clients and manages operations at over 20 project sites, with an order book nearing 5 GW.
