M&B Engineering Clears ₹30 Cr Brownfield Capacity Expansion

M&B Engineering has approved a brownfield expansion project to add 10,000 MTPA of heavy structural steel capacity at its Sanand plant for an investment of approximately Rs 30 crore. The new capacity will take the facility’s total output from 12,000 MTPA to 22,000 MTPA, with commissioning targeted by Q1 FY28.

The project will be funded through a combination of term loans and internal accruals. The Sanand plant, part of the company’s Phenix Division, has a total multi-product capacity of 72,000 TPA, with the existing heavy structural steel capacity currently operating at a utilisation rate of 75–78 per cent.

The expansion is aimed at capitalising on India’s growing data centre sector, which presents a significant addressable market for steel-intensive construction, supported by large-scale announced investments. High-rise construction developers are also increasingly adopting steel structures to accelerate build timelines while maintaining safety and scalability.

M&B Engineering offers dual capability in Pre-Engineered Buildings and Heavy Structural Steel, providing end-to-end solutions that combine execution speed with high load-bearing capacity — making its offering suitable for complex data centre and high-rise building applications.
