The Assam Cabinet, under Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, has greenlit the development of a mega industrial park and the Assam Integrated Clean Energy Policy, 2025, marking a significant step toward sustainable growth. The industrial park will span over 188 acres in Morigaon district, aiming to attract investments, fuel economic development, and create employment opportunities.

In line with India’s clean energy goals, the new policy promotes solar, wind, mini and small hydro, and hydrogen projects, positioning Assam as a hub for renewable energy. The Cabinet’s holistic approach balances industrial expansion with environmental conservation, enhancing the state’s green credentials.

Additionally, the Cabinet approved the creation of Sikhna Jwhwlao National Park, covering 316.29 sq. km between Raimona and Manas National Parks in Chirang and Kokrajhar districts, strengthening Assam’s biodiversity efforts.

In a move to improve healthcare services, postgraduate increments were also sanctioned for Ayurvedic doctors who completed a three-year PG course, supporting traditional medicine practitioners. These strategic decisions reflect Assam’s commitment to balanced progress, integrating economic, environmental, and social development.
