The Odisha government has greenlit seven pivotal projects totalling INR 80,125 crore across various sectors, following approval at a High-Level Clearance Authority (HLCA) meeting chaired by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik. These initiatives are set to generate job opportunities for 24,552 individuals in sectors such as steel, renewable energy, pharmaceuticals, and chemicals, spread across Khurda, Jagatsinghpur, Jharsuguda, Ganjam, and Bhadrak districts.
Granules Life Sciences Private Limited, a prominent Indian producer of paracetamol, plans to establish a pharmaceutical unit in Tata SEZ, Gopalpur, Ganjam district. The proposed investment of INR 1,100 crore aims to manufacture 4 billion units of pharmaceutical products, creating jobs for approximately 1,500 individuals.
Additionally, Granules CZRO Private Limited will invest INR 2,000 crore to set up a chemical plant in Tata SEZ, generating employment for around 1,000 people. EG Solwin Hybrid Private Limited intends to establish a green ammonia production unit with an investment of INR 6,330 crore, employing 1,050 individuals.
ACME Greentech Urja Private Limited will invest INR 36,000 crore to set up a solar panel manufacturing unit in Khurda, creating job opportunities for approximately 6,300 people. Waaree Clean Energy Solutions Private Limited plans to establish a green ammonia plant in Jagatsinghpur with an investment of INR 12,480 crore, providing employment to 3,250 individuals.
Furthermore, Action Ispat aims to expand its steel production capacity from 0.37 MTPA to 7.5 MTPA at its Jharsuguda plant, investing INR 21,000 crore and creating job opportunities for 10,000 people. OFB Tech Private Limited will invest INR 1,615 crore to establish a manufacturing unit in Dhamra, Bhadrak, employing 1,500 individuals.
