Union Minister of State and Gurgaon MP, Rao Inderjit Singh, announced that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to lay the foundation for the Gurgaon railway station upgrade on February 26. The estimated cost for the first phase of the project is Rs 295 crore.
Singh emphasized the transformation of the Gurgaon railway station into a world-class facility. The upgraded station is expected to feature two entry points and various unique elements. Plans are underway to facilitate direct access to the station for vehicles using the Daultabad Flyover.
To address challenges, officials have been instructed to relocate the cement yard. The revamped Gurgaon railway station is planned to include 12 lifts, a foot-over bridge, a multi-level parking area, a two-storey food court, escalators, and solar panels, among other facilities.
Singh mentioned that he discussed the project with Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw at the Parliament House in July. During the meeting, he apprised Vaishnaw of various projects in the region, including the railway station renovation, and received assurance of support from the Union Railway Minister.
