Amit Metaliks to Break Ground on ₹4,000 Cr Steel Plant in WB

Amit Metaliks Ltd. will hold a groundbreaking ceremony for its integrated steel plant in Paschim Bardhaman district, West Bengal, marking one of the most significant private-sector steel investments in the state in recent years. The facility will be developed with an investment of approximately Rs 4,000 crore (around $460 million).

The plant has been planned as an integrated steel production complex to be developed in phases, equipped with modern production technologies. Steel produced at the facility is intended to meet growing demand from infrastructure, construction, engineering and manufacturing sectors, aligning with India’s broader strategy to expand steel production capacity in line with rising infrastructure investment.

Amit Metaliks said the project will create significant employment opportunities during both construction and operational phases, while also supporting the development of ancillary industries, logistics services and local supply chains in the region.

The investment is expected to strengthen West Bengal’s position as a key steel production hub in eastern India and contribute meaningfully to regional industrial development and economic growth.
