Centre outlines vision to develop Union Territory as a Blue Economy hub
Amit Shah, Union Home Minister, has stated that plans are underway to develop an industrial corridor in Puducherry, with a broader vision to position the Union Territory as a Blue Economy hub.
Addressing a public gathering, Shah highlighted the Centre’s focus on strengthening industrial and economic infrastructure in the region. He noted that a laptop manufacturing unit with an annual production capacity of three lakh units has already been established, signalling growing industrial activity.
On employment, Shah said the unemployment rate has declined significantly under the current administration. He also emphasised that the government is committed to accelerating Puducherry’s development through targeted initiatives and infrastructure expansion.
The proposed industrial corridor is expected to enhance connectivity, attract investment, and support economic growth in the region, aligning with broader national efforts to promote industrialisation and regional development.
