Highway Infrastructure jumps 7% as ₹328-crore order win boosts portfolio

Shares of Highway Infrastructure surged nearly 7 per cent in early trade after the company secured a ₹328.77 crore order from the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), boosting investor sentiment and trading activity.

The stock rose to an intraday high of ₹62.13 on the NSE, with volumes at about 2.6 times the 30-day average, before paring gains later in the session. Despite the rally, the stock remains sharply lower since its listing, having declined over 50 per cent from its debut levels.

The share price uptick followed the company’s announcement that it has been awarded a contract to act as a user-fee agency at the Kaza Fee Plaza on NH-16 in Andhra Pradesh. The scope includes toll operations on the Chilakaluripet–Vijayawada stretch, alongwith maintenance of adjacent toilet blocks.

The latest order strengthens Highway Infrastructure’s toll operations portfolio and improves revenue visibility. The company recently received another toll operations contract worth ₹32 crore, underlining its expanding presence in the sector.
