BMW Industries intends to extend its operations with a new production site in Bokaro, Jharkhand. The move attempts to improve downstream steel processing while meeting growing demand. The project, estimated to cost Rs 803.47 crore, will be funded by internal accruals and debt.
The project will build a downstream steel complex with an annual production capacity of 300,000 TPA of cold rolled full hard coil/sheet, 540,000 TPA of galvanised coil/sheet, and 2,000 TPA of colour coated coils/sheets.Â
The corporation already owns the necessary industrial land for this greenfield project, which will be built in stages over two years. The first plant is anticipated to begin commercial operations in FY26.
The project will be financed through a combination of internal accruals and debt. BMW Industries plans phased operational launches for this Jharkhand steel complex, with the first phase expected to commence in FY 2026-27. The company has already acquired industrial land for this project. Leveraging its location near raw material sources, the complex will ensure efficient supply chain operations.
