Bengaluru’s Namma Metro has commenced construction at Kadugodi (Whitefield) Metro Station along the Purple Line to address overcrowding and improve services. These upgrades aim to increase train frequency and operational efficiency, benefiting thousands of daily commuters.

A key improvement involves extending the Shunting Neck, a 40-meter-long side track that will allow trains to turn around directly at the station instead of traveling to the Whitefield depot. This upgrade will reduce delays, enhance safety, and streamline operations.

These enhancements are a response to complaints about overcrowding and limited services. By addressing these challenges, Namma Metro seeks to modernize Bengaluru’s transport network and accommodate the city’s growing commuter base.

The Purple Line, currently spanning 43.49 km from Challaghatta to Whitefield, is critical for connecting key areas in Bengaluru. As the city expands, such projects ensure the metro system remains efficient and reliable, aligning with the city’s evolving transport needs.
