Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu is set to inaugurate five major industrial projects on January 8, valued at Rs 4.8 lakh crore. These projects include NTPC’s Green Hydrogen Park in Visakhapatnam, ArcelorMittal/Nippon Steel’s integrated steel plant in Anakapalli, Bharat Petroleum’s refinery at Ramayapatnam, a new railway zone in Visakhapatnam, and the first phase of Reliance’s biogas plant in Ongole.

The Green Hydrogen Park, with an investment of Rs 1.85 lakh crore, will be located in Pudimadaka, Visakhapatnam district. The integrated steel project by ArcelorMittal/Nippon Steel will receive Rs 1.35 lakh crore investment, while Bharat Petroleum’s refinery at Ramayapatnam will cost Rs 95,000 crore. These projects are poised to significantly boost the state’s industrial growth and job creation.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been invited to inaugurate these projects, with the event set to take place at the Andhra University Engineering College grounds in Visakhapatnam. The inauguration is expected to be a grand occasion, marking a significant step forward for Andhra Pradesh’s industrial landscape.

Among the notable announcements is the creation of a new South Coast railway zone, headquartered in Visakhapatnam. This long-pending initiative, first promised during the state’s bifurcation in 2014, will finally be set into motion. Naidu’s strategic support to the BJP-led NDA government at the Centre has played a crucial role in securing this railway zone for the state.
