The Uttar Pradesh government sanctioned a significant infrastructural project with a budget of ₹2,254.35 crore for a new metro corridor stretching from the Botanical Garden Metro station to Sector 142 in Noida. This ambitious project, pending approval from the central government, is designed to enhance public transportation and improve connectivity between Noida, Greater Noida, and Delhi.

The proposed metro line will cover a length of 11.5 kilometers and feature eight new stations, namely Botanical Garden, Noida Sector-44, Noida Office, Noida Sector-97, Noida Sector-105, Noida Sector-108, Noida Sector-93, and Panchsheel Balak Inter College. This new corridor is expected to address the increasing demand for efficient and reliable public transportation in the rapidly developing region.

One of the key benefits of this project is its potential to provide direct connectivity to the Indira Gandhi International Airport via the Delhi Metro’s Magenta Line. Additionally, it will facilitate a seamless commute to major railway stations through the Blue Line, thereby enhancing the overall transportation network. The new metro line will also extend connectivity to the upcoming Noida International Airport in Jewar, which is expected to become a significant hub for both domestic and international travel.

The initial ridership for this metro line is projected to be around 80,000 passengers. The Botanical Garden station, a major interchange hub, will play a crucial role in accommodating this ridership. Lokesh M, Managing Director of Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC), highlighted the strategic importance of this approval, emphasizing its potential to significantly contribute to the development and prosperity of the region. He noted that the new metro corridor is designed to meet the growing demand for public transportation, thereby enhancing connectivity and promoting regional development.

In addition to the new metro line, the NMRC has announced plans to develop a Botanical Garden bus stand in Sector 38A. This development aims to ensure seamless integration between the Aqua Line and Blue Line, further improving the public transportation network in Noida.
