Hyderabad Unveils Naini Narsimha Reddy Steel Bridge at Indira Park

In a recent ceremony, Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister KT Rama Rao officially inaugurated the 2.25 km-long steel bridge at Indira Park, in Hyderabad, named in honour of former Home Minister Naini Narsimha Reddy. Constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 450 crore, the four-lane steel bridge holds promise for alleviating traffic congestion and enhancing connectivity.

Rama Rao outlined ambitious intentions to elevate Indira Park, Lower Tank Bund, and Upper Tank Bund to international standards, envisioning integrated facilities such as parking zones and elevated walkways.

The Minister highlighted that the decision to name the steel bridge after Naini Narsimha Reddy stemmed from the request of Musheerabad MLA M. Gopal and Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao’s guidance.

Addressing the pressing issue of traffic woes, Rama Rao expressed optimism that the newly inaugurated bridge would significantly contribute to resolving congestion troubles in the region.

This steel bridge marks the 36th endeavour under the Strategic Road Development Program (SRDP). The Minister reaffirmed the commitment to pursue further development initiatives in Hyderabad, with the ultimate goal of elevating the city’s progress to global standards.

The bridge is expected to have a transformative impact on the traffic situation at key junctions like VST Junction, RTC Cross Roads, and Indira Park Cross Road.

The steel bridge’s route witnesses a daily influx of approximately one lakh vehicles. In comparison to the previous travel time of 30 to 40 minutes from Telugu Thalli flyover to destinations like Osmania University and Nallakunta, the new steel bridge has trimmed the journey to just 5 minutes, resulting in a substantial 25-minute time-saving.
