Infrastructure work on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train project is progressing swiftly in Maharashtra, particularly on the 135.45 km elevated stretch, the second-largest segment after Gujarat’s 237 km section. Key developments include 124 km of viaducts, three stations (Thane, Virar, Boisar), seven mountain tunnels, and major river crossings over Ulhas, Vaitarna, and Jagani.

Construction is underway across multiple locations, with foundation work progressing at all three stations, Boisar leading in casting, and pier installation ongoing along the corridor. Three casting yards have been set up for segmental and full-span box girder production, with the first 40-meter, 970-ton girder successfully cast near Dahanu. Temporary bridges are also being built to support river bridge construction.

The Rs 1.08 trillion project, incorporating advanced Japanese rail technology, is set to revolutionize intercity travel by reducing journey time, boosting urban development, and enhancing economic productivity in Maharashtra and Gujarat.
