The Rajasthan government and the Centre will collaborate to operate the extended Jaipur Metro lines connecting Badi Chaupar to Transport Nagar, and Mansarovar to the 200-feet bypass, as announced by Vaibhav Galriya, Secretary of the Urban Development and Housing (UDH) department. Ongoing discussions aim to finalize the agreement. Under the joint venture model, the state government will cover just 20% of the construction cost, with the Union government contributing another 20%, and the remaining 60% financed through a soft loan.

While work continues on Line 1D (connecting Mansarovar to the 200-feet Bypass), construction on Line 1C (linking Badi Chaupar to Transport Nagar) was halted in September. The second phase of the project was funded by a Rs 9.69 billion loan from the Asian Development Bank (ADB), which the Jaipur Metro Rail Corporation (JMRC) is struggling to repay. Additionally, Hawa Mahal MLA Balmukund Acharya has requested a route realignment from Badi Chaupar to Ramgarh Mod via Amer Road, which aligns with his constituency.

The extension of the Jaipur Metro is expected to significantly ease traffic congestion in the city, providing a modern, efficient mode of public transportation. It will also improve connectivity between key areas, benefiting daily commuters and boosting the local economy by enhancing accessibility to commercial and residential zones. The project is seen as a vital step toward transforming Jaipur into a more sustainable, urbanized city while promoting greener alternatives to road transport.
