Navi Mumbai International Airport, slated to open in March 2025, will significantly improve connectivity across Mumbai, Pune, Thane, Kalyan, and western Maharashtra. Minister of State for Civil Aviation Murlidhar Mohol expressed strong confidence in the airport’s progress and assured ongoing discussions to resolve compensation issues for those affected by the project.
Accompanied by Union Civil Aviation Minister Kinjarapu Rammohan Naidu, Mohol recently inspected the construction site, highlighting the airport’s adherence to global standards and anticipating an annual footfall of nearly 20 million passengers.
Mohol also voiced support for naming the airport after the late PWP leader DB Patil, underscoring the government’s commitment to protecting those who contributed land. He emphasized Prime Minister Modi’s unwavering support for Maharashtra’s developmental projects.
In discussions following the Maharashtra council elections, Mohol commended the performance of the Mahayuti alliance and urged the Congress to address internal challenges.
