In an effort to boost industrialization in Odisha, the state government greenlit 26 projects worth Rs 5,992.92 crore, which are expected to generate 19,364 jobs.

The State Level Single Window Clearance Authority (SLSWCA), chaired by Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja, approved projects across various sectors, including steel, chemicals, renewable energy, textiles, manufacturing, infrastructure, information technology, and tourism, spread across 14 districts.

Several steel sector projects received approval. GM Iron and Steel Company Limited will establish a steel plant with a 0.23 million tonne per annum capacity and a 45 MW captive power plant in Mayurbhanj. Shree Ganesh Metaliks Limited will expand its integrated steel plant in Sundargarh, and Times Steel and Power Private Limited will also expand its existing facility in Sundargarh. Aryan Ispat and Power Private Limited will expand its project in Sambalpur, while SSAB Energy and Minerals Limited will enlarge its beneficiation plant in Keonjhar.

In addition, Bhaskar Steel and Ferro Alloy Private Limited (a unit of KAI Steel) will add downstream facilities in Sundargarh. In the steel downstream sector, Shyamshakti Metals Private Limited will establish a structural and pipe manufacturing unit in Rengali, Sambalpur.

Cabcon India Limited received approval to set up a manufacturing unit for aluminium conductors, wire rods, and cables in Sundargarh. Similarly, Shreyash Aluminium and Alloys Private Limited will establish a manufacturing unit for high-grade electrical conducting rods and alloy rods in Jharsuguda.

In the chemical sector, Eternis Fine Chemicals Limited’s proposal to set up a perfumery ingredient manufacturing unit in Ganjam was approved. Other approvals include Envirocare Infrasolution Private Limited’s 100 MW ground-mounted solar photovoltaic captive power plant in Boudh, Solisys Solar Private Limited’s solar module manufacturing facility in Khurda, and Nandaraj Agrotech Private Limited’s spices and snacks unit in Khurda.
