Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the 19 km Haryana segment of the 8-lane Dwarka Expressway during a national-level event held in Gurugram. As a crucial component of the ₹60,000 crore Delhi decongestion initiative, this elevated urban expressway aims to alleviate traffic congestion on NH-48 and facilitate smoother connectivity between Delhi and Gurugram.
Additionally, the Prime Minister launched and laid the foundation stone for 114 National Highway Projects across various states, collectively valued at approximately ₹1 trillion. He also inaugurated two segments of the Dwarka Expressway (Packages 3 and 4), with a combined investment of ₹4,087 crore.
Package 3 of the expressway spans 10.2 km and links the Delhi-Haryana border to Basai in Haryana. Featuring an 8.6 km elevated section with a width of 34 meters, this segment forms part of India’s first eight-lane elevated roadway constructed on a ‘single pier.’ The accompanying service road ranges from 4 lanes to 10 lanes, with notable infrastructure including a railway-over-bridge boasting 16 lanes and a 125-meter-long ‘Bow Spring Steel Bridge.’
The Cloverleaf interchange at Kherki Daula, spanning over two km in circumference, offers seamless connectivity in all directions, facilitating traffic flow between the existing Delhi-Jaipur Highway on NH-48. Importantly, all roads are signal-free, and three vehicular underpasses ensure uninterrupted traffic movement.
